Sequential discovery puzzle12/15/2023 ![]() I've watched multiple people get hung up on one or two steps on Ice Box, so sometimes the difficulty in solving a puzzle like this comes more from your own assumptions about how things could work inside, or when you've tried "everything" except that one move you overlooked. ![]() I learned that sometimes an easy but fun and satisfying puzzle is just as good as a more difficult one that's not as satisfying. Ice Box ended up a little easier than I intended, but it still manages to give some people a substantial amount of trouble. Sequential Discovery puzzles differ from other take apart puzzles because you will remove pieces that may have to be re-used as tools once you determine how to use them to advance towards to the solution. Sequential Discovery Puzzles also known as progressive puzzles or sequential assembly puzzles, are a type of puzzle that involves solving a series of smaller puzzles or challenges in order to progress to the next level and ultimately solve the final puzzle. Most commonly, they will be take-apart puzzle. ![]() Sequential Discovery puzzles can be take-apart, burrs, combination puzzles they can really be anything. My initial inspection doesn’t reveal much. It is hard to believe that there is a sequential puzzle box incorporated into this common 6-burr shape but we shall see. At this point, Sequential Discovery is also a mantra. It’s definitely worthy of the sequential discovery title, there are a few tools to utilize and and a bunch of steps to complete in order to get to the final moves. It was his first attempt at designing a traditional sequential discovery puzzle, which hides tools that can be discovered and then used to somehow advance the mechanisms and solve the puzzle. Sequential Discovery is not actually a puzzle type.
